The only place in Florida I've seen more mosquitoes is at Lower Suwannee River Wildlife Refuge.

Transcription Triumph

I finally finished transcribing an interview with an important former staffer that ran 2.5 hours. Transcription took a week and a half. This particular fellow rarely speaks in complete sentences, and some of his partial-sentences were too inscrutable to record.

I'm excited to move on.

Torreya State Park

The first quarter of this series of pics is well-lit by the 4:30PM sun. The rest get darker and darker as cloud cover dominated the landscape. To be candid, I couldn't tell you for sure which of these is a torreya tree, but I'm sure I caught one in these slides. I've been looking at images of the tree on a Google Image Search and it doesn't quite mirror the trees I saw.

In any case, the bluff's vista is the highlight.

The Miccosukee Trail in April

April showers have begun...

And those same yellow-and-red veins of flowers I found in Gadsden County are in bloom on the Miccosukee Greenway trail outside Tallahassee. I saw another flower variety on an overpass near Interstate-10, on the trail. The soil is damp, the leaves are lush, and raindrops are still on some of the flowers. And bumble bees and bugs.
